Just how powerful are you, though? I mean, I've always just assumed.

If we're talking how I rank, I'm one of the five most powerful beings in creation. The most powerful I've ever been...let's just say that destroying the world wasn't even on the top of my to do list.

Here, that's halved. At least. I should be able to kill the Animus, because I have killed some of them at home. But I can't here. I can't resurrect people as far as I know; I haven't tried because Teleos has that covered. I've created worlds like this one, I can access alternate universes...but obviously, not now. Whatever the Scientists did is strong enough to cage me and hundreds of gods.

That's what I find worrying. Even with your power scaled down by the Animus, something would be able to temporarily put you on par with a human. I don't know if it's the scientists doing it. And if the Animus are doing it... why? What are they protecting?

[Al sighs lightly. He knows. But asking for reassurance from Lucifer probably wasn't the best idea.]

Besides. [playing with the dirt again] I meant it when I said I want us all to work together. It's the best option for all of us.

[Al gives him a slow, contemplating sort of look, stroking the kitten and putting aside the charcoal. His face has softened a little. He still can't help thinking the worst of Lucifer -- but he knows that he's come to truly care for Break.

Do you say that because you want to get along, or- because it's easier?

[Of all things... he at least knows that Lucifer won't outright lie. He's misdirect, he'll weasel, but he won't lie.]

There is nothing easy about this. Most of the city hates me, and you're all afraid of me on some level. It's fine. I get it. You should be. But I don't enjoy waiting out screaming fits to have a civil conversation.

But it's worth it in the long run. Not just for getting out, but for keeping certain folks happy enough to stick around with me.

Not enough, but a little more than I used to.
