That when I do get 'close' to people, other people stage interventions and start riots. So mostly I keep it quiet, unless they're an exhibitionist...or have a protective housemate who happens to be close to a certain someone.

Because I don't think you do know. He buffers it- tells you all he'll kill me if I don't toe a line. And it's true, one of us or both of us would end up dead.

He makes it sound like he's only close so he can muzzle me. That's not how it really is. And the more you're around us...

I don't think you do understand it, Al. But I'm also a cynic when it comes to 'human nature', so even if you did, I probably wouldn't have much faith.
