I didn't know cats came in purple. Then again, I didn't know cats could be invisible, either.

She's a hellcat. She could be anything I want her to be. [Cooing the words at the kitten, who playfully paws Lucifer's face. And scratches him to the bone on accident, but it heals in a few seconds.]

[Al winces.]

You'll have to teach her how to use her claws. That wouldn't heal up on Break.

She doesn't touch him with her paws. And if she did, he has me, hm?

[But training these animals is a lot more difficult than it sounds. He gave Break the kitten when she was brand new so that she would learn instinctively not to bite or claw him even in play. Other people might be screwed.]

[al_truism]

Good. She's very sweet, though.

[Al strokes behind her ears, giving her attention.]

She'd better be.

[Her purring is so loud it rattles the loose dirt around her feet, and she's getting strong; she arches against Al's fingers.]

[He goes and returns with scraps of paper, a board, and some bits of charcoal.]

[Al explores with his fingers, still scratching gently, finding any physical differences between her and a normal cat.

When Lucifer comes back, he sits down, devoting one hand to cat-attention, organizing supplies with the other.]

Which do you want first?

[She has tufts on the tips of her ears, and a spike on the end of her tail. Apart from those and her razor sharp claws, though, she's a normal, sweet kitten.]

Inner City first.

[Al gets to sketching with one hand. His lines are precise, borne of many tactical years and multiple break-ins. He clearly labels things and gets them all correct the first time. There are a lot of gaps in the map, which are labeled with what the areas likely are.

The areas encompass the basement level, the outside grounds, and several different floors, but not nearly all.]

[Lucifer takes a picture of it as Al progresses, for back up.]

[He hovers a finger over it, indicating the area.]

And how do power losses progress? Where are they first noticed, do they get worse...?

What do you mean, power losses?

[thelightbringer]

I'd be powerless here, wouldn't I?

I never lost power while I was in the Inner City, so I have no idea. My alchemy worked just fine until I lost consciousness.

[thelightbringer]

Really? Good to know.

[al_truism]

The way I understood it, it's underground that power loss happens. I've never been in the underground.

[thelightbringer]

Oh I know underground we will. We have no plans for the City right now, I just like to keep my options open.

It may be that the scientists have engineered the power loss to protect themselves. But if they could de-power someone like you...

[Lucifer smiles thinly.] I love the pedestal you all have me on, but I'm not just some bundle of power. I spent a few million years without being able to use my gifts, this won't be a problem.

[It's just that he'd spent that time in his true form, burning in a Cage. The circumstances are nothing alike.]

Just how powerful are you, though? I mean, I've always just assumed.

[thelightbringer]

In general or...?

Here, in general, the most powerful you've ever been.

[thelightbringer]

If we're talking how I rank, I'm one of the five most powerful beings in creation. The most powerful I've ever been...let's just say that destroying the world wasn't even on the top of my to do list.

Here, that's halved. At least. I should be able to kill the Animus, because I have killed some of them at home. But I can't here. I can't resurrect people as far as I know; I haven't tried because Teleos has that covered. I've created worlds like this one, I can access alternate universes...but obviously, not now. Whatever the Scientists did is strong enough to cage me and hundreds of gods.
